The Death Defying Pepper Roux

By Geraldine McCaughrean

The Death Defying Pepper Roux is about a boy called Pepper who is told he will die at 14 years of age. He tries to escape death by going on adventures and has to change identity as he gets int trouble. All his life Pepper has been taught about God, saints, angels, heaven and hell. His thoughts often revolve around these things and they get him into trouble and cause problems for him.

My favourite part of the book was when he was in his Father's shoes and he doesn't understand entirely what is going on. He seems very confused. I really liked how he always thought about saints and everything was about that. It was funny and interesting to see how he thought about things.

Pepper was my favourite character because he always thought about other people's feelings. This was displayed by his behaviour in the book. He is always wanting people to be happy.

At the beginning of the book I found it quite hard to get into but as I continued I really loved it.

In conclusion, I thought this was an amazing book and interesting to read. I really enjoyed reading it.

  1. The Book sounds good to read. Your review helps show that well too. Your review makes the book sound like it's the kind of book that I would read. Good review.
